The Opening of Stage two of the light rail is being celebrated with free travel on the G:Link on Sunday 17th December 2017 all the way to Helensvale Station. Travellers can travel from Broadbeach to Helensvale and then on to Brisbane after transferring to the Brisbane rail network.

Take a relaxing walk under shimmering lights whilst browsing unique gifts, grab your last minute stocking fillers or just unwind with seasonal entertainment and delectable Yuletide treats at the gourmet Christmas food court.

There's something for everyone with family entertainment, food trucks, kids’ activities and Santa will arrive by helicopter! Free entry includes Santa photos, a Christmas movie and so much more.

The event will commence on Friday 15 December 2017 between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm and will run through the weekend to Sunday 17 December 2017 at the Broadwater Parklands.

Christmas in Paradise – at Surfers Paradise

An initiative of Surfers Paradise Alliance, Christmas in Surfers Paradise brings a new dimension of summer sparkle to traditional festivities with a free, family-friendly entertainment spectacular, culminating in the beloved Carols on the Beach on Saturday 23 December. This is Australia’s only event of its kind, where revellers rejoice in the spirit of the season with twinkling stars overhead and golden sands underfoot from Wednesday 13th December through to 24th December, 2017.

Presented by G:Link and supported by Gift It Now, Surfers Paradise will be transformed into an Aussie-style festive wonderland by the shore, as Cavill Mall becomes home to Santa’s summer grotto and families can pose for free keepsake photos in the surfboat sleigh, while kids can share their Christmas wish list with Santa. The festival’s pinnacle event, Carols on the Beach, features a stunning line-up of talented local musicians and dancers and culminates in a colourful fireworks finale.
