The Gold Coast is a hive of activity in readiness for the GC 2018 Commonwealth Games which is just over 3 weeks away, right after the Easter Long Weekend. The Council has started marking the roads with “Officials and Athletes use only” lanes in orange.
In some areas the road closures commencing from the 30th March, so check out the Get Set For The Games website for more detailed information and adjust your travel times accordingly. We are fortunate in Main Beach in that practically everything we need is only a short stroll away.
This week at MBPS, we have listed a fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment on Level 12 in The Meriton at $489,000 and another 1 bedroom apartment with a private courtyard in Liberty Pacific at $539,000, neither of which will be presented to the market this week. One of the new properties mentioned in our last newsletter is now under contract the 2 bedroom apartment in Xanadu North, a great effort by Carmen to lock things in so quickly. The contracts on both De Ville apartments are now unconditional. We had two settlements, Apartment 10 in Madison Point and Apartment 201 in Contessa Condominiums. Both sellers and buyers are delighted! Well done Annette and Cherie, respectively.

Bike share rolls into town - Mobike Gold Coast
Pedal power on the Gold Coast has been given a boost with the launch of a new bike share scheme. Accessible via the Mobike app, this bike share scheme allows people to hire a bike at point ‘A’ and ride it to point ‘B’ without the need to return it to a ‘docking station’.
By simply downloading the Mobike app, finding a nearby Mobike and scanning its QR code, Gold Coasters will be able to pick up and ride bikes around the city and to the beach.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games will be hosted by the city of Gold Coast, at that time Mobike will be available to visitors and athletes; providing a convenient and sustainable method of transport to help fans and competitors make the most of the exciting event.
