Our saying this week seemed appropriate for a number of reasons and in particular, as it really does apply to buying real estate. I believe that most buyers buy with their heart – “it is all about the feel” I often say to prospective buyers and that is true, however, it must also make economical sense... That is also true when it comes to my passion to buy a holiday home in Italy, so my ‘common sense’ has so far prevailed.... and I have returned ‘empty handed'! Yes, I am back and once again, enjoying a glass of red! Not that I have not had one, or two, whilst in Italy… I would like to thank the MBPS Team and all of our very valued friends and clients, who have kept us very busy during my absence. This week has been another good week at MBPS with several new listings, some on the ‘quiet’, so don’t forget to let us know if you are looking to buy and what your criteria is… Live to our website this week, but not yet being released to the wider market, are two very diverse properties. On the Gold Coast....
The Gold Coast is in full GC2018 mode with banners, fences etc. displaying the Commonwealth Games logo and graphics – Tedder Avenue is also looking very festive and welcoming, with less than 20 days before the big event! Broken blue lines are appearing on 42 klms of Gold Coast roads from Runaway Bay to Burleigh marking the fastest route for the GC2018 Marathon. The lines will remain a legacy of the ‘once in a lifetime event’. They are a symbol for many major marathon countries around the world and the Gold Coast is now included in that group! For those of you who live on the Golds Coast, you may not be aware of changes in relation to our Waste Services with the onset of the GC2018. From this coming Monday 18th March, 2018 to the 20th April, 2018 your bins will need to be accessible for collection from Midnight, the night prior to your normal day service, rather than the usual 6:00 am start. This will ensure that the collection vehicles are able to complete all services prior to increased pedestrian and vehicle movement. Please note that if the bin is not available for collection, it is unlikely the waste collection vehicle will return later in the day due to the traffic control measures that will be in place that will restrict access.

Gold Coast Decathlon Athlete hoping for Gold at the GC2018!

John Lane Jnr was born in the US, raised on the Gold Coast by his English parents and attended “TSS”, The Southport School. He represented Australia in Japan at the world School Rugby Championships whilst in year 12 before a shoulder injury ended his rugby ambitions. John will be representing England (where he has been training for some years) at the GC2018 but he will have a lot of support from family and friends on the Gold Coast. “It will be weird because it’s like an at home Games but I will be competing in the Decathlon in a different jersey”. “I won’t have the added pressure, but in the back of my head, I’ll know everyone in the crowd and I’ll be familiar with everything”. John came 4th the Glasgow Commonwealth Games…. “it would be amazing to win a medal at the GC2018 as Glasgow was a bit of a learning curve, to be so close and have some stuff go wrong at the last minute”. The MBPS Team wish John all the very best in his event and may his wish come true for his ‘Golden Moment”.
