Today reading the various quotations relating to Champions, in keeping with the Commonwealth Games, I could not help but think of the true meaning of the word, according to Wikipedia “A champion (from the late Latin campio) is the victor in a challenge, contest or competition” – are we not all in some way, at some stage, a champion?
In saying that, we certainly do not want to take away from all those Champions in Sport, who have all worked so hard to be where they are today, striving for their respective countries to be the Winners of the Commonwealth Games!
We, “The MBPS Team”, enjoyed welcoming the Queen’s Baton on Wednesday as it came down Tedder Avenue and was carried pass our Shop by Raylene Boyle. What a great turn out, with Tedder Avenue lined with people waving flags, with claps and shouts of enthusiasm in support of the Baton carriers, support crew and police, who looked like they were all having a great time… It was very exciting and the closest that a lot of us will come to the Commonwealth Games, so we took in and enjoyed every moment…. We have been trying ever since to work out how we can bring some of that life back into Tedder - we even considered painting a blue dotted line down the street…
Mr Jeeves (pictured below) proudly carried a Baton hand crafted and gifted to him by one of our young locals - Thank you Genevieve!
We have also achieved this week! Oscar on Main Apartment 4 is under unconditional Contract – Congratulations to the happy Seller and Buyers! Also, to Carmen, who negotiated the Contract!

The CBD Street Party will feature:

• live music and performance from 12pm to 10pm daily
• Museum of the Moon programmed by Festival 2018

• roving entertainment

Location: Gold Coast Chinatown, Young and Davenport Streets, Southport.
