Our saying this week was provided to us by one of our lovely local followers, as she believed it could relate to selling and buying property. How true, thank you!
It also bought home to me an ‘old’ saying of my Dad’s – “Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today”. Both sayings so aptly apply to feelings of regret that I had this week when learning of the passing of two precious characters, whom we met through MBPS. One of them, Dear Jean, a long-time resident of Main Beach, who passed away peacefully at the young age of 96. I wish I had recently dropped into see her, as I had planned to do…
The other, a gorgeous ‘older gentleman’, Sir Leonard, as I nicked named him, a part time local and interstate resident. He had not been well for a very long time, so again best for him, however, I have been “meaning” to call for months…
They will both be very sadly missed, and we thank them for bringing us a lot of joy and laughter! There are many a story that could be told, but one in particularly comes to mind, which I am sure Jean would love us to share – Wendy and I dropped into see Jean one day and there she was sitting with the phone book in her lap. I very cheekily said, “Jean what are you doing reading the telephone book” – she very promptly replied “Yes, I know a boring story, but it has lots of interesting characters…”
I am not remembering and mentioning Jean and Sir Leonard in our Newsletter on a sad note, but rather on a happy note that firstly, we were so fortunate, once again, to have special people in our lives through MBPS and secondly, “..we only ever really regret the chances we didn’t take…”.
In Sales this week - we have a price reduction on the superb waterfront home at 13 La Scala Court, Isle of Capri – now listed at $1,495,000. It is featured below and Open for Inspection this weekend between 10 and 10:45 am on both Saturday and Sunday. We also have the opportunity to sell the owner’s home, the adjoining property, 11 La Scale Court, which is listed at $1,695,000. Whilst not yet going to market, it is now available to view at any time by private inspection. TV Week Logie Awards at The Star Casino, Broadbeach
The TV Week Logie Awards (the Logies) are an annual event celebrating Australian television. Established in 1960, the Logies have been held predominantly in Melbourne, Victoria, with the Gold Coast now the events new home. The awards ceremony includes national and international entertainment and is broadcast free to air on Channel 9 on Sunday 30th June at the Star Casino, 1 Casino Drive, Broadbeach Qld 4218.
This year, the voting period for the Most Popular award categories opens on Monday, March 4, and closes on Sunday, March 31. Fans will be able to cast their vote through the official website.
Two awards have returned to the list of categories this year – Most Popular Panel Or Current Affairs Program and Most Outstanding Entertainment Program – and a new award has been introduced: Most Outstanding Reality Program.
After being enthusiastically supported in 2018, live voting for 11 Most Popular categories will also return. From Monday, June 24, through to the end of the TV WEEK Logie Awards red-carpet telecast on June 30, fans will have one more chance to cast their vote in the Most Popular categories, which include Most Popular Actor, Most Popular Actress and the coveted TV WEEK Gold Logie Award For Most Popular Personality On Australian TV.
