Never say can’t, say how am I going to…
This week, I attended a talk by Dr Helena Popovic on Brain Boosters… My friend who invited me clearly thought it could be helpful – and it was! It was very interesting indeed and our saying this week came from the good Doctor, along with many other tips for a healthy brain! Did you know that we can generate new brain cells? The question is “How can we?” – Dr Popovic’s Brain Boosters include:
Get laughing ...
Get friendly…
Get off vegetable (seed) oils…
Get challenged and become a lifelong learner…
Get hearing aids if you need them…
Get excited about what each new day will bring…
Get moving - half an hour of exercise a day halves your lifetime risk of dementia…

This week at MBPS we have done all of the above – except the hearing aids, at this stage… As those of you who know us, we certainly ‘laugh’ a lot and we are ‘friendly’…

Left Bank Gallery
We know that many of you know well and remember Bob and Sandra Simm from Left Bank Gallery.
Tedder Avenue will welcome back the Left Bank Gallery to its “spiritual home” this weekend.
Left Bank Gallery originated in the mid 1980’s in Tedder Ave and Bob and Sandra Simm enjoyed 20 years “hard labour” (Bob’s words) with their retail and manufacturing store near the iconic Bakery and Hard Coffee.
As the business grew, new larger premises were needed so they moved to the Brickworks in Southport. “It’s been 15 long years since we exited Main Beach and we are really excited about getting our products back to where we started. It’s still a family owned businesses with our eldest boy Toby introducing the designer element to our manufacturing skills.”
The shop will be open this weekend and will operate as a “pop-up” during the week for several months. Check it out!
