Our saying this week came about by a comment made in passing by a lovely woman at one of our Open Homes last weekend, that struck a chord with me. She simply described Main Beach as “calm”… I felt it was the perfect word for how you feel when you come into Main Beach and I believe it described exactly how I felt and what facilitated Main Beach becoming my home. Having come from a very busy ‘city life’ in Sydney, from the moment we came to Main Beach I felt relaxed and ‘calm’! No matter how busy you are…

The good soaking rain we are experiencing is a very welcome relief, especially for those who have been battling bushfires in the Hinterland and the farmers struggling to survive due to the drought. We wish them all the very best and hope that it is doing ‘good’ and it is not too much for them - which is often the case sadly…

Main Beach News…

Sadly, Blacksmith Café is no longer operating in Main Beach, having sold to Hot Shotts, who have expanded their business into the former Blacksmith premises. We would like to congratulate the proprietors of Blacksmith, who very quickly built a great business in Main Beach and congratulations to Jenna and Kellie the proprietors of Hot Shotts, who have expanded to the extent that they were ‘bursting at the seams’ – Congratulations!

Also, congratulations to Natalie and Jo of Thyme Café, having settled in very nicely to their new larger and more modern premises only two doors up from where they had built their business over 13 years. They have been very busy this week after their move – hard to believe you can just ‘pick up’ and move a restaurant almost overnight!

There is a lot happening in Main Beach at the moment – we will not spread the ‘rumour’ that an ‘art gallery’ is moving into Tedder Avenue or confirm the ‘rumours’ that a Deli is opening soon – however, watch this space…

Warm up your vocal cords as this weekend's Eurovision – Australia Decides party continues at Pacific Fair. Sing your way into Saturday with our 2019 Junior Eurovision contestant Jordan Anthony performing live, Eurovision Karaoke, prizes and giveaways!
You may even meet your favourite artist before they compete to be Australia's next Eurovision Song Contest representative.
The event will be held on Saturday 8th February between 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Pacific Fair, Centre Court on the ground floor outside Myer. It is a free event.
The party then continues at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre with the Eurovision – Australia Decides family-friendly Matinee Show (Matinee Show tickets available from Ticketek).
