Our saying this week is very appropriate to me for several reasons. Mostly relating to Real Estate, but also generally in life, business – make your own decisions… The co-founder of MBPS, my dear late husband, Carl, always said “Annette, just make the decision, if you are right 80% of the time, you are doing well” and I have lived by that and have learnt to simply right off the 20% and 'move on'.
We experience on a regular basis, buyers who instead of going with their own mind or ‘heart’ when purchasing their new home, they listen to the opinion of others - including the ‘media’…
Recently when speaking with our local friend, Clifford, the ‘Economist’, about the effects of the COVID-19 on the property market in Main Beach and my own belief that our market will not be affected, he said “property in Main Beach is about individual stories, not about what the broader market is doing”… I said, “do you mind if I steal that, it is so true?”. He kindly said I could “have it” as my own, but I am not sure that anyone would believe me if I said it – I am after all, a ‘Real Estate Agent’…
To support Clifford’s comment, there has been some very positive media comments about the effects of COVID-19 on Gold Coast property market, or more, the lack of the effect that is being predicted for the broader market…
