Well, our saying this week is a little ‘left field’ but it amused me, so I thought I would share… Given this is my second attempt at publishing the Newsletter this week – thus, my tardiness once again…
I wrote the ‘preamble’ to our Newsletter on Thursday evening around a story that Samira had shared with me this week. Samira thought it may be of interest to our readers. I thought – might be of interest to some and considered ‘trivia’ by others – so my heading was “One man’s meat is another man’s poison”. I then went on to align the saying with our industry and people choosing properties to purchase, because in Main Beach our properties, apartments and buildings, are so diverse. Buyers often choose a particular building, i.e. “I only want an apartment in that building and I can wait” and someone else will say “Oh no, I don’t like that building” – believe it or not ‘buildings’ have ‘followers’. Often it is the same with a style of apartment, so not just a particular building, “I am only interested in a ‘C’ style” …
Not only did my saying get the ‘thumbs down’ from some of the Team yesterday, as they had never heard of it (must be something to do with my age…), but so did Samira’s story – so back to the ‘drawing board’, so to speak!
A little trivia for those of you who do not know the saying – according to Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English ‘one man’s meat is another man’s poison’ is - “used to say that something that one person likes may not be liked by someone else”. And, as for Samira’s story – let us know if you are curious enough and we will email it to you. I have just noticed that it came with a photograph, that I found interesting...

Mr. Jeeves...
Wet and Cold!
It is very unusual for us to be both 'wet and cold' in Main Beach, so we are definately 'out in sympathy' for our friends from the South..
One of our part-time locals, who has just returned to Main Beach after being away for many months came into the shop yesterday looking very cold and looking for that 'sunshine'... Hopefully, we can accommodate very soon!

We neglected to mention last week that Mr. Jeeves’ new section – ‘Joke of the week’ was courtesy of one of our lovely locals, who not only suggest the idea, however, provided both last week’s and this week’s joke – so we would like to thank him for allowing Mr. Jeeves to be his ‘nom de plume’! Actually, that may not be quite correct, as others have clearly written the jokes…

Anthea Polson Art Gallery in Main Beach
We missed welcoming Anthea Polson to Main Beach some months ago when she opened her new Gallery here in addition to her Gallery in Marina Mirage. We do apologise and would like to say a belated “Welcome”! The reason I thought of it this week is that I passed by the amazing Gallery on Saturday last week and there was a soloist musician playing and drinks and nibble’s being offered to people coming into the Gallery. I have just learnt that it was the official opening of the Steve Tyerman Exhibition, which is currently showing until the 1st of August, 2020. I understand that Anthea has regular Exhibitions, which is exciting for Main Beach, as is the Gallery’s presence here. Click on the link below for more information.
