This week we thought we would assist in spreading the word about ‘caring’ and how something so small as saying R U OK? can make a difference. We just need to remember that when we ask – we must wait and listen for the answer!
As many of you may know Thursday this week, 10 September, was “R U OK? Day”. I personally did not know about R U OK? Day, which is apparently our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” and support those struggling with life's ups and downs.
The colour associated with R U OK? Day is ‘Yellow’, as it “is the colour of optimism, glory, sunshine, enlightenment and happiness. Yellow colour promises positive future as well as energy.” Again, something that I was not aware of… This year we are a little late with our news about the ‘Day’, however, next year we will remember to be proactive and let you know in advance. Apparently, it is traditionally a day to wear ‘yellow’ – So, next year Mr. Jeeves will be dressed accordingly and perhaps we can do likewise!
