I was looking back over our Newsletter of Easter last year when we amid COVID 19 and practically in ‘lock-down’. We said then how appropriate the meaning of Easter was given the situation our communities had found themselves in… Sadly, just when we thought we were all ‘clear’ our neighbours in Brisbane went into ‘lockdown’ again. Thankfully restrictions have now been lifted and we hope that everyone now has the opportunity to be with their family and friends to celebrate Easter and stay safe!
During those first few months who would have thought the world would go “mad” and we would have our busiest year ever…
During my search for an appropriate saying this week I came across one that we had used before “Time doesn’t exit, clocks exit…”, which reminded me of my revelation this week. I suddenly realised why ‘we’ the ‘older’ generation do not have as many hours in the day as the ‘younger’ generation. The answer is technology… Where it takes me 5 minutes to type a text, it takes “them” 1 minute, so multiply that out by how many texts we are ‘required’ to send these days… The rest is history, as they say… A good theory, don’t you agree. Particularly when you add that I write an email as I would an “old fashion” letter, where they write in shorthand… Multiply that out in my day – no wonder there are not enough hours in the day… To use Carmen’s words, I am “more wordie”. Now that I think about it, my opening paragraphs to our Newsletters definitely supports her theory… I still believe that ‘time flying’ is not an aging thing, but rather ‘technology’!

Some weeks ago, a friend found a ‘bundle’ of ‘old’ photographs on the road in the rain. This photo was amongst them. So, we have been holding them and wondering how we could find the owner. Then we thought – you just never know, who knows who, so we are publishing just this one, as the faces are not recognisable, however, the owner of the photos will know.
