We thought the origin of the Anzac Biscuit maybe of interest to those of us who did not know - from the official Army website: “During World War One, the friends and families of soldiers and community groups sent food to the fighting men. Due to the time delays in getting food items to the front lines, they had to send food that would remain edible, without refrigeration, for long periods of time that retained high nutritional value; the Anzac biscuit met this need.”
However we remember and thank all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and Country on this Anzac Day - Lest We Forget!

ANZAC Day
We are all very grateful that we can celebrate ANZAC Day in a more inclusive way this year compared to last year, due to COVID 19 restrictions. There will be marches and dawn services, albeit in a scaled down version.

There will also be an opportunity to pay our respects, with others in Main Beach – The ANZAC Service will be played over loudspeaker at the front of the Main Beach Friendly Grocer at 6 am on Sunday morning. It was very popular last year, with the Cafes and Coffee shops open for Breakfast.

Tunes on Tedder
This Saturday, 24th from 12 – 4pm in Tedder Avenue there will be 2 pieces roving musicians, Griffin Youngs on Trombone and Vocals and Randal Scheerle on Marching Drums will ‘rove’ along Tedder stopping at the Restaurants and Cafes to entertain.
Both Artists have toured extensively through Australia, Europe, USA and Canada with their highly sought after musical talents. Griffin and Randal are featured musicians with the Village Roadshow White Christmas and Carnivale Productions.
They were a great success a fortnight ago and have been invited to return. So, if you are in town, you may like to be entertained over lunch or late coffee…
