Nothing ventured, nothing gained…
I cannot tell you how many times I have found myself saying ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ over the last couple of days. So, I thought, not a bad saying for our Newsletter, as it is so true, perhaps even more so in our industry, particularly in this current market…
I am sure you will all have used or heard the proverb “nothing ventured, nothing gained” or is it my old fashion upbringing? According to Definitions from Oxford Languages it is a “phrase of venture” meaning “you can't expect to achieve anything if you never take any risks”.
In keeping with that proverb, this week I suggested to our Sales Team we undertake a ‘task’ that we have never done before and must be handled in a most delicate way, otherwise it is against all we have aspired to be – ‘non-pushy Real Estate Agents’… I suggested a form of ‘cold calling’ – shock, horror! I am always speaking of putting the jigsaw pieces together and marrying up the parties, so to speak. So, now we find ourselves in the position that we have genuine buyers who in many cases are “cashed up” with specific requirements and there is not anything on the market that matches their requirements. So, I suggested identifying those specific properties and contacting the owners we know, who may appreciate the contact. We cannot assume everyone realises that we are in such a good market - ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’… The key word is genuine!
In Sales this week...
We must mention our inaugural auction on Saturday. We thank our wonderful Sellers, all interested onlookers, Registered Bidders and the MBPS Team. The room on Saturday did not include the Buyer, however, we now have a price and Claire continues to actively market the remarkable 3 bedroom apartment on the 28th floor of Contessa Condominiums for a sell price of $1,700,000.

We have two new contracts this week, however, as often is the case, they are ‘unmentionable’ until they become unconditional… Notwithstanding - Congratulations to the Sellers, Buyers, and the Sales Team!

It will feature eight races including the Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon (World Athletics Label Road Race), Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Wheelchair 15km, Southern Cross University 10km Run, Gold Coast Airport 5k Fun Run, Health and Wellbeing Queensland 4km Junior Dash and 2km Junior Dash.
The Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon is organised by Events Management Queensland, a major event management company wholly owned by the Queensland Government as part of Tourism and Events Queensland.
