  This week at MBPS Main Beach Property Sales

Today, Saturday August 21, is World Entrepreneurs’ Day (WED). This was pointed out to me by one of our Team, Samira, who seemed to think that I was an entrepreneur – I laughed and taking it as compliment, immediately thought, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” … In Samira’s eyes I was an entrepreneur, where in reality, I simply operate a business…

It made me consider – what is an entrepreneur in reality? I decided to highlight in this week’s Newsletter to acknowledge all the entrepreneurs on their day! Only to find that according to the dictionary Samira is correct, the true meaning of the word is “one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise” …

Then I searched further and found “Defining The Word ‘Entrepreneur’ For The 21st Century” by Faisal Hoque. He wrote:

“It’s a word we throw around every day: entrepreneur. But does it mean the same thing now as it did in 1723?” According to Faisal Hoque: “The buzz about entrepreneurship is everywhere nowadays–from magazine covers to conferences, hotel lobbies to the White House, and of course, kitchen tables. The French word entrepreneur first appeared in the French dictionary in 1723 to describe a person who organizes and operates a business by taking a financial risk. Since then the word entrepreneur–and the world–has completely changed. Today, entrepreneurship is celebrated like never before and it is defined in so many ways–social entrepreneurship, intra-entrepreneurship, knowledge entrepreneurship, micro-entrepreneurship–you name it. In 1975, Harvard professor Howard Stevenson defined entrepreneurship as “the pursuit of opportunity without regard to resources currently controlled.” “Resources currently controlled” can be interpreted as limited resources. From that point of view, almost all of us have some level of entrepreneurial challenges.”

As I read on, I decided that anyone who works hard, strives to achieve and make a difference, may be considered an entrepreneur – so, here’s to all of you entrepreneurs on your day!

This is real value for an apartment that is 85m2 with ‘million dollar’ views… The very spacious 1 bedroom apartment, which is 27m2 larger than the Maldives apartment, is clearly not being appreciated for its true value, simply because it is an 8-10 minute walk to the beach and Tedder Avenue, instead of 3-5 minutes… You would think the views, that in most cases would attract another million dollars, would be sufficient for those hesitant buyers.
