How true is our saying this week… The theme for our Newsletter this week was ‘spontaneous’, as it seems that our lives are exactly that, spontaneous. When a local ‘pops in’ with a cake – how lucky are we! Or a friend remembers your birthday and ‘drops in’, how special is that! Buying and selling at times is ‘spontaneous’ – well certainly for us. People actually ‘just pop in’ and say “I would like to sell” or “I am looking to buy” – again, how lucky are we! Seriously, it can be that spontaneous…
Then, yesterday morning we woke up to the news that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away overnight, and thought, spontaneous is now perhaps not appropriate and could we pay tribute to the queen with the theme ‘spontaneous’, potentially not… However, we have continued with our theme, as we believe we all appreciate one of the most difficult aspects of the Queen’s life and career would have been that she was potentially deprived of spontaneity…
Whilst not everyone is a Royalist, I believe everyone will be mourning the loss of a great lady and you will all agree that Queen Elizabeth II was, as one ‘passer-by’ said today, “a leader” and “a role model”. Also, to quote another of our local friends, “Wish I had but a smidgen of her resilience, energy, stoicism”… As we said, it is sadly ‘the end of an era’.
Pictured below is our Sales Team, minus me, at the Spring Charity Lunch that we (MBPS) sponsored last Saturday – a great pic ‘girls’! Now that was spontaneous, not only did I spontaneously put my hand up to sponsor the event, as it was a fundraiser for the Cancer Council, which is close to my heart and to the heart of so many, I spontaneously did not turn up… I only had a cold, however, we all know that we cannot take even a cold to a public event. The good news is the event apparently raised over $30,000! I was also able to give my seat away at short notice – again, my replacement seized the moment spontaneously!
We could not resist sharing the ‘Boyz’ delicious cake, also pictured below, which is a ‘secret’ receipt that, remarkably, contains only 3 ingredients and is super delicious – thank you Steve and Alan!
In business this week we continue to work on ‘new listings’, as they continue to be ‘rare’. A good thing for sellers and not so such a good for those buyers that we have in the wings…
We have had 2 settlements this week, 109 Crescent Avenue, Hope Island and 2/36 Blake Street, Southport. Congratulations to the happy Sellers and Buyers and to Claire and Carmen who co-ordinated the sales!
We also have a ‘new listing’ with another 2 bedroom apartment available for sale in Scalinada. It is on the top floor, north facing, with an oversized single garage space and has reasonable Body Corporate fees. So please call Claire for further details and to arrange a private inspection at any time.
We also have an ‘unmentionable’ contract this week, so watch this space…
In Property Management, this week we leased Apartment 19 The Crest, which was for “Lease or Sale”, with the intention being, which ever came first… We may have also sold the property (our second contract this week), however, the contract is not yet unconditional, so would not normally be mentioned, however, it is now no longer available for Sale.
