I only just realised the date this morning, prior to even putting ‘figures to typewriter’ (as opposed to ‘pen to paper’) to commence our Newsletter. So now, what was going to be our theme, will potentially be for next week and this is a short Newsletter with the sole purpose of remembering and acknowledge those who died while serving in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations around the world.
Highlighting to those who read, and like me, may not know the date – today is Remembrance Day, the 11th day of the 11th month. And at the 11 hour, we will all observe one (1) minutes silence to remember and to honour our service personnel who died in service of Australia, as that is when ‘The Armistice’ came into effect.
The Armistice, an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations, began at 11am on 11 November 1918.
Our theme was to have been remembering friends…
