Of course this Sunday is Father’s Day, so we would like to say “Happy Father’s Day” to all of you ‘Dads’ out there!
The reason for our saying this week is totally co-incidentally to it being Father’s Day, however, appeared relevant. This week a friend and I had the pleasure of speaking with a ‘mature’ women on the footpath outside MBPS - not like me to be ‘talking’ on the footpath... Anyway, the conversation brought my father to mind, as the lovely women shared her theory as to why we have ‘bottoms’, or ‘Gluteus Maximus’ as she called them...
We were speaking of discipline, or more to the point, the lack of discipline in some cases in our modern society. I said how much I appreciated the discipline I grew up with. I recalled the one and only ‘healthy smack on the bottom’ I received from my Dad and the fact that from that time forward all my dear ‘gentle’ mother had to say when we were naughty was ‘remember your father will be home tonight’...
I know, very unacceptable in our modern society, however, very powerful in those days. Our lovely local, who shared that she had 6 children, said without giving it another thought, “I believe that is why we were born with bottoms, Gluteus Maximus, a padded area to receive smacks”... We had a lovely laugh together and off she went.
So, notwithstanding we are not to promote the ‘dark age’ teachings of my Father’s generation, I must say “Thank you Dad”, I have always appreciated the discipline I was afforded...
I asked my friend Google – “What does it mean to be a father today?” – the answer “It means committing to raising and nurturing a child to the best of our abilities and embodying a fatherly role that holds steady, endures, and exemplifies a committed pillar of love and support through all of life's ups and downs.” – So, nothing has changed!
In Sales this week we secured a Contract of Sale on another property that was sold ‘off market’ - a quiet listing, so to speak... It is also unmentionable for now until unconditional next week. As you will see from our Properties for Sale below, we have a very diverse ‘stock list’, which is good for the market – they are all so varied, both in style and prices. A 1 bedroom apartment in Maldives listed at $650,000 to a 3 bedroom, plus media room bedroom, equivalent to a 4 bedroom in Cerulean, which is one of a kind, being ‘sculptured’ off plan and listed at $3,295,000. We are currently awaiting photographs of our newest listing, Apartment 1501 The Maldives. A one bedroom apartment on the top floor of this boutique building, which comprises 1 bedroom apartments only. Some might say this is a “Penthouse” as it is located on the ‘pinnacle’ of the building. The Main Beach Street Festival
Main Beach Street Festival is next Saturday, 7th of September - commencing at 12 noon until 5 pm.
It is a free event and presents an opportunity to bring together the local community, businesses, residents and visitors in a Tedder Avenue celebration. It will feature live music, food, fashion, flowers, & cars, this is a community celebration not to be missed!
The entire commercial precinct of Tedder Avenue will be closed from Breaker Street all the way to Hughes Avenue. This will include activity down our 'end of Tedder', such as the fashion parade and apparently activities for the children.
We at MBPS are providing a Photo Booth, so please join us in the fun on the corner of Tedder and Peak Avenues!
